Frequently Asked Questions

What is your program’s tuition or cost to parents?

Our programs, both the early intensive intervention and kindergarten, are funded entirely by your child’s Autism Funds. There is no additional cost to the parent for tuition. There is a small monthly materials fee of $25 to help cover the cost of paper, art materials, toy replacement, etc.

How are you different from a typical kindergarten program?

The GABA program provides the benefits similar to could be found in a preschool program (socialization with peers and group-based instructions) AND the structured environment of a clinical ABA program (one to one teaching and natural environment teaching opportunities). It is the combination of the benefits of both environments that make our program unique and therapeutic.

How are you different from an ABA clinical program?

The GABA model is a group-based program. Therefore, a large difference from a typical clinical intervention program is that we provide one to one teaching time and your child will also benefit from group time with his/her peers. This provides us opportunities to help your child socialize with his/her peers and also work on generalization of the skills he/she learns during 1:1 teaching.

What is the ratio of staff to students?

GABA provides programming with a 2:3 instructor to student ratio for group times and students are given a minimum of one hour 1:1 time each day. For students requiring more hands-on attention, we provide a full time 1:1 ratio to ensure their needs are met.

Does my child need to be verbal to attend GABA?

No. This is a concern we can help you address and we have taught many children to talk who are not initially using spoken language when they first enroll.
